Characters · placeholder sketches, final cast co-designed with children

The hero's strongest move is asking for help

The guide · a weaver bird

Builds safe nests and knows every corner of the village and the internet. Gives clues, never orders.

Village weavers are yellow; this one is lagoon to keep party colours out.

The hero · a child about nine

Curious, makes mistakes, always carries the Safety Book. Wins by telling someone, not by being clever alone.

Name, look and voice chosen by children in co-design.

The trusted adult

A teacher, grandmother or neighbour. Listens calmly, never blames, knows the next step.

Models the response the teacher protocol asks for.

Rules for the cast

  1. Original and Kenyan. Children choose the names, looks and voices.
  2. Every episode ends with a character telling a trusted adult.
  3. Problems can come from people the child knows, handled gently for the age band, not only from strangers.
  4. The cast includes urban and rural children, different family set-ups and a child with a disability.
  5. Each character works in sound alone, with its own voice and sound cue for radio.
  6. Simple enough for a teacher to sketch on a chalkboard.
  7. No character sells anything, and none is a real person or public figure.
